Writing Spaces November 9, 2007

There are many writing spaces that someone can choose from. Some we use everyday and some not so much. One writing space I use almost everyday is my notebook. I take notes in it for almost every class. I sometimes write out my drafts of papers in my notebook before I type them. A notebook is convenient when jotting down notes quickly. You can always carry a notebook with you, unlike some other writing spaces. Another writing space I use a lot is a word document. I type a word document everyday for almost all my classes. A word document is easy because it can be done fast and can be easily saved. Another writing space I use occasionally is post-it notes. I use these as reminders to myself around my apartment, in my textbooks, and in magazines. All these writing spaces are unique in their own ways. Work that is written down can be saved for a long time. A word document can be edited and revised within seconds and saved immediately. Post-it notes serves as easy reminders for people that can help them succeed.
The word document on a computer does remediate a written document. It is a newer and faster way to have thoughts put down on paper. It can be sent to anyone, anywhere, at anytime immediately. A written document can be lost easier and would take longer to send to someone than a word document would. A word document can be saved within a matter of seconds and be there to bring up any time you might night to refer to it. A word document, to me, would be a much better and more functional choice of a writing space than a written word document.
